Luv My India’s tribute to Naveen Jindal
Luv My India’s tribute to Naveen Jindal

In the early 90s, Naveen Jindal, a young industrialist, son of O.P. Jindal (founder of the Jindal Group), a politician and a passionate patriot, embarked on a legal journey that was about to change the way India saw its national flag, the Tiranga.

His relentless fight for the right of every Indian citizen to display the Indian flag with love and pride. Flag of a country is a symbol that binds the nation together in its fabric. Naveen Jindal’s fight was an inspiration for every patriot and paved the way for nation lovers.

Luv My India is proud to stand on the shoulders of his courage and determination as we take immense pride in India’s values, culture and heritage. Our main aim behind this brand is to take Mr. Jindal’s fight to the next level. LMI is beyond just selling products because we aim to build a community of India’s heartfelt patriots through our high-quality khadi flags and accessories that echo love for a united India.

LMI’s mission is clear: to make sure that every home, every institution and every Indian proudly displays the national flag.

Before the historic case fought fiercely by Naveen Jindal, the display of Tiranga was heavily restricted by the flag code of India. It prohibited ordinary citizens from using it on any day other than specific national holidays like Independence Day or Republic Day.

For partizans like Shri Jindal, this seemed contradictory to the values of freedom and patriotism that India stood for. He thoroughly believed that the Tiranga is not just a government emblem; it’s the heart of India. Every Indian should have the right to boldly express their love and pride for their country.

When government officials objected flying the Tiranga at his factory premises in 1992, citing the existing laws, he knocked the Delhi High Court to challenge this. After losing the case to Jindal in 1995, government appealed to the Supreme Court which upheld the Delhi High Court ruling in 2004.

The Supreme Court said that flying the Tiranga was a form of free expression protected under the Indian constitution. Naveen Jindal’s fight was more than a mere legal battle.

At Luv My India, we see this victory as a monumental as it solidifies the idea that Tiranga should not be merely a ceremonial object but a formality but a true symbol of India’s freedom and values.

As a brand that is committed to promote patriotism and national pride, we are deeply inspired by his legacy and are determined to carry forward it.

At LMI, we want to ensure that a high-quality khadi Tiranga reaches every Indian home and institution.

We believe that a flag made from khadi has the true spirit of India. We want to create a future where the national flag is as common in homes and offices as any other emblem of national pride.

Luv My India is committed to take Naveen Jindal’s contribution forward as his victory not only gave citizens the right to fly the Tiranga but also instilled a deep sense of unity in the heart of every Indian.

We invite all Indians to join us in this movement to honour the values India stands for. Together, let’s ensure that Tiranga flies tall as a reminder of our heritage, unity and the sacrifices made for our freedom.
