Khadi
The Fabric of India's Freedom

Why Choose a Khadi India National Flag?
Khadi is not just a fabric; it is a movement and a tribute to India's rich heritage. This Swadeshi fabric carries the essence of sustainability, authenticity and patriotism.
The Khadi Indian National Flag holds a special place in the hearts of all Indians. It is the only legally approved fabric for the Tiranga, as per the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Unlike synthetic flags, a Khadi flag embodies purity, tradition and the spirit of India's independence movement led by Mahatma Gandhi.

Importance of Khadi
In the Indian National Flag
Symbol of Self-Reliance:
Khadi represents India's self-sufficiency and economic independence.
Eco-Friendly & Biodegradable:
Unlike polyester flags, Khadi flags are completely biodegradable and environmentally sustainable.
Handwoven Craftsmanship:
Every Khadi Tiranga is made by skilled artisans, preserving India's age-old weaving traditions.
Legal & Authentic:
Only Khadi flags are allowed for official government use, making them the most authentic representation of India's sovereignty.

The Right to Display the National Flag
The Flag Code of India allows all citizens, educational institutions, and private organizations to hoist the Tiranga on any day, provided it is done with respect and honour. This right is protected under Article 19(1)(a) of the Indian Constitution, which grants every Indian the freedom of expression, including the right to display the National Flag.
Let's ensure it is always treated with dignity and honour!
- The saffron band should always be on top when the flag is hoisted.
- A damaged or unclean flag should never be displayed.
- The flag should not be dipped in salute to any person or object.
- The National Flag must not be used as decoration (festoon, bunting, or rosette).
- No other flag should be placed higher or alongside the National Flag.
- The Tiranga must not touch the ground, floor or water.
- It must not be fastened in a way that damages or distorts its shape.
- The National Flag must not be flown on the same mast as other flags.
- It must never be used to cover a speaker's desk or drape over a platform.
- The flag should never be a part of clothing below the waist, nor printed on items like cushions, napkins or undergarments.
- The National Flag must not bear any lettering, inscriptions or symbols of any kind.
